Another Price Increase for Name.com Users

So last night I received a email from name.com which said there was going to be a price increase of 7% for .com domains and a 10% increase for .net domain names. :O

If you have more than 50 URL’s this is going to be quite costly now. I am not sure if any other domain registries are making the same changes but it looks like they will be.

Name.com stated in this email that the price increase was due to an increase by VeriSign (I think their the company that rules and regulates .com and .net domain names.)

This new price increase will come into effect on the 1 July 2010. To help domain registrants who have domain names with name.com, Name.com is offering a new Promotion code for renewals of domains which is available up until the 30th of June.

The Renewal Name.com Promotion Code is “SAVENOW” and or “SIZZLING” they are also offering a cheap Transfer fee of $6.99 if you move your domains there by the 30th June. No promotion code needed. If you need more information visit their blog. Name.com Blog Here

I am really not sure. In the email name.com sent, they didn’t say how much, they just said expect an increase of 7% for .com and 10% for .net. I am expecting the new prices to be from $9.00-$12.00. However, it’s name.com so there will probably be plenty of coupon codes.
