Websites 4 Sale: Invest Your Money!

Everyday people are looking to sell their website/s for many different reasons. Some of these websites make money and some don’t. If you’re looking to Invest your Money into a Website I think it’s a really good idea.

Buy one(website) that looks good, has made a couple of sales(or has consistent income), preferably a WordPress blog and one that has a little bit of traffic. You can look for sites at Flippa.com, the largest Website Market Place in the World.

How to find a good Website? You’ll know a good Website 4 Sale when you see it.

Usually when someone puts a website up for sale they will include all of the necessary data and stats. You want to be taking a look at their traffic and income data for the past 3 months, these stats will give an indication of where the site is heading(in terms of traffic and revenue) or what needs to be done to the site to increase profits. Check through the sellers stats PROPERLY and be aware of any inconsistent results.

Also, you should look at buying sites you want to spend time working on, most of the good sites(which cost a lot more) are automated, however there are many sites on sale that will need consistent promotion and/or content. Ask the seller if they will show you their previous Marketing and Advertising plan, and if they purchased their articles from other sources.

Remember that you should have some money to invest in promotion. It’s always good to generate more traffic, exposure and income. If your buying a site via forums, be sure to research the sellers background first.

I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. :)

Thanks. Tell all of your friends about us =)

  7. How much the content and website is worth is also dependent on how long the content is valid. If you have a lot of reviews of consumer electronics gadgets such as TV or mobile phones or whatever, the content will be close to worth less after a couple of years.

Yep, I totally agree. Just look at the recent fall of the Samsung Galaxy Tabs. In November 2010 a tab was worth around $1,100.00 now March 2011 you can pick one up on eBay for around $400-$500.00. But if you’re blogging its easy to add the newest and best new techno product on the market to the site your selling.

[The *Samsung Galaxy Tab* is a great device, I highly recommend it!]

Worth checking their credibility with Google too and what SEO techniques are in place. A colleague of mine bought a site that was generating a ton of traffic, and he was shocked when after 3-4 weeks, it suddenly dried up.

Turns out the former owner was using a lot of blackhat techniques, and the domain got blacklisted by Google. Cost him a fair bit of cash.

That’s so interesting Sam, My website was getting 50-100 hits a day
from SEO and after 3 months it dropped from the face of the Google
in one day! No BH methods were used, 0 non-related links, no spam – Nothing.

That was quite brutal because I was generating a lot of sales for EPN!
Google’s Panda update is NOT COOL!

Websites are indeed very good investment. But they should be properly chosen to be able to make the business profitable. ;)
